Klaus Scharlemann studied law and economics in Bayreuth and continued his studies of law at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. He passed the first state exam in law in Munich in 1989, completed his legal internship in Munich and Constance and passed the second state exam at the higher regional court of Munich in 1991. He was admitted to the bar in 1993.
Klaus Scharlemann started his professional career in a law firm specialising in international business law in Frankfurt/Main in 1993 and helped to establish their office in Leipzig in the following years.


Main Focus

The main focus has been on public and private construction and architecture law, engineering law, on- going legal advice during the whole construction period, contract management, supplementary order management under VOB/B and VOL/B, arbitration, litigation, preparation of and assistance in award review proceedings. Klaus Scharlemann has been an officially recognised specialist for construction and architecture law since 2005.

He is a board member of the working group in Saxony and Saxony- Anhalt of the German Association for Construction Law (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Baurecht e.V.).
He is a member of the Centre for Ground Rights and Civil Engineering Rights CBTR (Centrum für deutsches und internationales Baugrund- und Tiefbaurecht e.V.), of the Consortium for Construction Law (ARGE Baurecht) and other judicial and construction law associations.
